“The best thing I learned was time management. I had a lot of time at the start, but I nearly ran out! Next time, I’ll plan my schedule better.”
Tell us about yourself!
I play tennis every day for one to two hours and spend my free time coding and working on new games. I’m also performing in a magic show for my school’s talent show soon! When I’m not busy with that, I like hanging out with my three close friends.
How did you start coding?
I started coding when I was around 8 years old after my dad introduced it to me. I liked playing games and then started making my own. When I get ready to create a new game, I usually look at featured games on Scratch first to get ideas on what makes them fun and popular!
Why did you decide to join the International Coding Showcase 24/25 (ICS)?
I joined ICS last year and really enjoyed it, so I decided to join again! This year’s theme about animals was interesting and made me excited to start creating something new.
“I’m working on a new Scratch game called Bakery Rush! for another tournament. I hope it will get featured like the games I love.”
What have you learned from your ICS participation?
I learned how important it is to manage my time. Even though I started early, I almost didn’t finish in time. Now I know that making a schedule really helps so I don’t feel rushed at the end.
What are your future coding aspirations?
Right now, I’m creating a new game called Bakery Rush! for a coding tournament. I’m hoping it gets featured on Scratch, just like some of my favourite games. I want to keep making fun and creative games that others can enjoy.
From tennis courts to Scratch gameboards, Asami brings enthusiasm, creativity, and heart to everything she does. With a strong eye for design and a message that matters, her coding projects go beyond fun—they make an impact. We’re excited to see what she whips up next!
